Smart contract risk
Smart contract risk relates to bugs or vulnerabilities in the protocol code that could potentially result in an exploit of the protocol and a loss of users' assets.
All protocols have smart contract risk. While Meteora has done several external audits and is undergoing a few more with the new DLMM, these only mitigate that risk and cannot eliminate them completely.
